Colin Sempeck

Colin is a Professional Research Assistant for the Functional Genomics Facility.

 

Colin received a B.S. in Biochemistry from Colorado State University in Fort Collins. While working on his degree, he completed a research-based undergraduate thesis titled “Utilizing RT-qPCR as a robust method for measuring RNA polymerase II elongation rates in vivo in Saccharomyces cerevisae” while working in Dr. Stargell’s lab.

 

Prior to his undergraduate work, Colin was enlisted for 6 years in the US Navy, where he was stationed on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69). He was assigned to the Reactor Controls division as an Electronics Technician, where he operated and maintained the two nuclear reactors aboard the carrier.
